Recommendations and Ranking in Fortnite and Fall Guys

The Digital Services Act., a European Union (EU) law, requires providers of online platforms to disclose how they recommend content. Here’s how this works in Fortnite and Fall Guys:

a. Fortnite

Fortnite recommends developer islands (“Islands”) to you to help improve your experience and show content we think you might like. We have several categories in Discover, such as “trending,” “new experiences,” and “great with friends.” Your “ Homebar” is the first row you see in your Discover page, which brings together your most recently played Islands as well as recommendations of Islands from these different types of categories. We organize and rank the Islands we show you based on a range of factors, including your play history, the play history of your friends and players you recently played with, and also Island information, such as the number of End Users playing, the average party size, and how often an Island has been played and for how long.
We may also recommend Items in the Fortnite Item Shop in the “Today’s Best Sellers” row. We organize and rank Items in this row to show you the top 10 Items End Users in your region are getting.

If you are eligible to receive personalized recommendations, you can control your personalized recommendations in the Fortnite settings menu, under “account and privacy” and “gameplay privacy.”

b. Fall Guys

Fall Guys makes recommendations of game levels to help improve your experience in the game. This is based on game information, such as the number of times a level has been played (on both a per player and group of players basis), when a level was last updated, the percentage of players that have completed a level, or who have dropped out prior to the end of the level, the average number of times that a player respawns before completing the level, and 'likes' or 'dislikes' associated to a particular game level (on both a per player and group of players basis).
For more information about recommendations and ranking in other Epic Games services, please refer to the applicable End User License Agreement.
