IP FAQ

Under our Content Guidelines and Fortnite Island Creator Rules whenever you upload something to Epic’s services, whether it’s a Fab product or a UEFN asset, you need to make sure that it does not infringe on anyone else’s rights. This includes intellectual property rights like copyright, trademarks, publicity or likeness rights among others.

If you want to use someone's likeness, reuse someone else’s work or are taking inspiration from it, you may need to get their permission (a license). Most commonly this applies to copyrighted materials (for example if you wanted to recreate a character from a comic book) as well as trademarks (when you would use a company’s logo on a 3D model). Such use, without having proper authorization from the rightholders, may be found infringing and is not allowed in Epic’s ecosystem, even if you created the content yourself. If we find your content violates someone else’s rights, we may take action against your account.

We have created this IP FAQ to help you navigate through that so you can better understand what is allowed and what is not
